A book dedicated to the biodiversity of medicinal plants in Azerbaijan, authored by Associate Professor Naiba Mehdiyeva, head of the Geobotany Department of the Institute of Botany of the Ministry of Science and Education, has been published. The monograph titled “Биоразнообразие лекарственных растений Азербайджана” (“Biodiversity of Medicinal Plants of Azerbaijan”) focuses on the comprehensive study of the biodiversity of medicinal plants in the country.

The work brings together information on the use and characteristics of medicinal plants distinguished by various botanical, therapeutic, pharmacotherapeutic and other properties within the flora of Azerbaijan. Special attention is given to promising directions in the search for new sources of highly demanded biologically active compounds and reserves of medicinal raw materials.
