A book titled “Traditional Folk Medicine of Azerbaijanis” by Professor Sayyara Ibadullayeva, Doctor of Biological Sciences and Director-General of the Institute of Botany of the Ministry of Science and Education, has been published.

The book prepared within the scientific research program “Prospects for the Use of Medicinal Plants Distributed in the Flora of Azerbaijan” was published by “Savad” Publishing House. It presents information on traditional folk medical practices related to medicinal plants collected from the Azerbaijani flora and used in the treatment of various diseases based on ethnobotanical research. These data were gathered from former residents of Western Azerbaijan, as well as from the communities of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur who had lived as refugees for 30 years.

The scientific editor of the book is Professor Munir Ozturk, and the reviewers are Professor Nazim Mammadov and Dr. Ilhama Jafarli.

The publication serves as an important resource for introducing Azerbaijani traditional folk medicine practices to a broad audience.
