The book prepared by the Shaki Regional Scientific Center is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. The publication highlights the special place of sericulture in Heydar Aliyev’s wise services to Independent Azerbaijan. It presents scientific commentary on the factors determining the existence of sericulture — natural and geographical environment, social experience as well as the development of sericulture in Azerbaijan from ancient times to 1920, the specific features of sericulture during the Soviet period, and the renaissance observed in this field in Azerbaijan, including Shaki, during the 1970s and early 1980s.
