“Eastern Studies” is a scientific theoretical journal established by the Institute of Oriental Studies named after Academician Ziya Bunyadov of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS). Operating since 2020, the journal is included in the list of recognized academic publications approved by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The journal publishes original research articles covering a wide range of disciplines including literature, linguistics, history, ethnography, political science and philosophy.

The Editor-in-Chief of the journal is Academician Govhar Bakhshaliyeva. The Deputy Editor-in-Chief is Ruhangiz Jumshudlu, Associate Professor and Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, while the Executive Secretary is Lale Aliyeva, Associate Professor and Doctor of Philosophy in Philology.
