At the initiative of the “Political Analysis and Research” Public Union (STA), several works have been published within the “STA Library” series: “The Heroic Path of the Fathers Is an Example for Generations” by Doctor of Historical Sciences Mais Emrahov, “The 10 November Statement: Towards a New Geopolitical Configuration in the South Caucasus” by Doctor of Historical Sciences Tofiq Mustafazade, “Shusha, You Are Free!” and “The Patriotic War: The Historical Victory ” by Doctor of Historical Sciences Mehman Suleymanov.

The books published by “Savad” Publishing House were released under the general scientific editorship of Doctor of Historical Sciences, Director General of the Institute, Professor Karim Shukyurov.

The books dedicated to the historical Victory achieved in the 44-day Patriotic War, which opened an honorable page in the history of Azerbaijan’s independence, extensively highlight the trials faced by the Azerbaijani state, people, and army in the path toward this great Victory; the policy pursued by Armenia and its supporters to perpetuate the occupation of Azerbaijani territories; as well as the ongoing military-political provocations against Azerbaijan. Primary attention is given to the unity of the Azerbaijani people and army – like an iron fist – around the President of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, in order to liberate the territories that had been under occupation for nearly 30 years, whose entire infrastructure had been destroyed and whose ecology had been devastated, and to bringing an end to the occupation as a result of the struggle conducted over 44 days. The books also extensively discuss the historic role of President Ilham Aliyev as Commander-in-Chief in achieving the Great Victory, the innovations introduced into global military practice during the course of the Patriotic War, and the new approaches that are now being studied by the world’s leading think tanks.

The combat path of the Azerbaijani Army is presented in chronological order. Brief information is provided about the heroic history of Shusha, all attacks carried out against the city since its foundation, the consequences of those attacks, and the successful defense of the fortress against these attacks.

The books also discuss the trilateral Statement of 10 November 2020 – the act of capitulation by aggressor Armenia – its impact on the global and regional geopolitical structure, and  examine the reasons that led to the defeat of the Armenian occupiers.

At the meeting held with the authors at the Institute of History of ANAS, the Director General of the Institute, Karim Shukyurov spoke about the importance of the project and emphasized that these publications will play a significant role in widely promoting the glorious Victory achieved in the Patriotic War.

The books are intended for specialists as well as a broad readership.
